Swim Lessons Free for social pool and tennis member children

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday          11:00am to 12noon

June 28th through August 20th  Each child comes one day per week

Tennis & Social Pool Members:          Free                

Non Members:                               $50 per child if spots are available

Ages 4 to 11

NOTE:

When registering your child for lessons, please give their current level of ability.  If they have not completed a Red Cross swimming level, of equivalent, please use the following guidelines.  Please be aware that group lessons may be of slightly mixed ability, and that your child may be moved based upon initial assessment and performance.

Level 1:  Water Introduction – no formal lesson experience, generally ages 2 ½ to 5 years old.  May be able to go under water, blow some bubbles, or a weak dog paddle.  This is a completely introductory level.

Level 2:  Water Exploration – Little or no formal lessons in the past.  Able to swim up to 5 yards on front and/or back.  Rudimentary flutter kick, does not swim with face in the water for extended periods.  May be able to bob and swim under water, can propel themselves with their kick.

Level 3:  Advanced Beginners – Able to swim basic front and back crawl, some elementary backstroke or breaststroke, able to tread water for 20 seconds or more.  Able to continuously swim 10 yards with face in water, may be able to breathe to the side.

Level 4:  Intermediate – Able to swim 25 yards or more of front crawl, back crawl and has a fair breast stroke kick/elementary backstroke.  Able to tread water for at least one minute and is water safe.  Breathes rhythmically to the side and is able to do a basic dive.

Advanced Swimmers:  Level 5 and higher is for accomplished swimmers, able to swim continuous laps with strong stroke mechanics.
